1. How do I donate money?

Answer- There are several ways to donate. The first is to mail in a check to the Dover Fire Department located at 103 S. Governors Ave. Dover, DE 19901. The second way is to drop the check off in person either at the above address or if you live on the WestSide of Dover you can drop it off Monday through Thursday at 911 Kenton Rd. Dover, DE 19904 this is Station 2.


2. What does my money go towards?

Answer- Your funds are allocated towards the departments general operating budget. As funds are brought in bills for different committees are paid as well as equipment maintenance and replacement. A Fire Department of todays era is always upgrading equipment in order to provide the best fire protection for you, the public.


3. Is this department all volunteers?

Answer- Yes, the Dover Fire Department although all members are professional in stature is a 100% volunteer department. The only paid professionals are the dispatchers which work out of Headquarters at Station 1. The Dover Fire Department is the only state capital that is still all volunteer.


4. Can I visit the station to see how my funds are being allocated?

Answer- Of course the general public is always welcome to stop by. Please call first in order to assure that a firefighter of line officer will be there to show you the trucks first. Although we are all volunteers we stay busy and sometimes no one is at the station due to being on a call or training.


5. If I have a question about the Fund Drive who do I contact?

Answer- Please contact Capt. Joe Simmons. He can be reached by calling the station and leaving a message for him or you can leave a message in the guestbook section and it will be passed on.


6. How much should I donate?

Answer- It is your decision on how much you donate. Any amount of funds would be beneficial to the Department and would be appreciated.
