National Night Out

On Aug 2nd, the Dover Fire Department participated in the National Night Out event held at the Dover Target. The event was sponsored by Dover Police Department and Target. National Night Out is an opportunity to heighten awareness of drug and crime prevention efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community relations. At the event were several static displays of first responder vehicles, local municipal patrol cars, Dover Police Special Operations Response Team vehicle, Dover Police Criminal Investigation Van, the Dover Police Command Post, Dover Fire Department, Kent County Paramedics and Dover Fire Marshall. There were also games such as the football throw, basketball hoops, tricycle race and a train ride. The Dover Police Motorcycle Unit and the Dover Police K-9 Units also held demonstrations. Chick-Fil-A, Buffalo Wild Wings, and IHOP were also on hand to provide food for the evening.
