Working Trailer Fire

Thursday, July 14, 2016

During the early morning hours of Saturday October 17th, 2015, the Dover Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a working trailer fire in Dover Air Park. As Chief Hall went responding, he was advised by dispatch that several calls were received reporting a single wide trailer fully involved. Chief Hall arrived on location confirming the report. Engine 3 arrived, laid a supply line and the crew stretched a hand line to the front door. The crew from Engine 3 was unable to make access through the front door so crews from Engine 6 and Engine 4 stretched a second hand line, making access through the rear door of the trailer. Crews encountered heavy fire conditions, but were able to aggressively knock the fire down and completed a search of the trailer for any possible victims. Those searches proved negative. The scene was placed under control and turned over to the Delaware State Fire Marshals Office for investigation.
