It is with deepest regrets that the Dover Fire Department announces the passing of Alberta B. Morris of Smyrna; she passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010. Alberta served as the President of the Citizens Hose Co. No. 1 Ladies Auxiliary for over 20 years. Since the Dover Fire Department had no organized Auxiliary, she was often called upon to assist the Department by preparing and serving food and beverages during emergency responses. Her volunteer efforts lead our Department to recognize her for her time and commitment by naming her the honorary President of the Dover Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Alberta was known around Smyrna and Dover as the person to call when you needed something done. The Department wished to extend it’s sympathy to her many friends and family. Arrangements are being handled by Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home in Smyrna. A viewing is scheduled from 7:00pm-9:00pm on Thursday, August 5, 2010 followed by funeral services at 11:00am on Friday, August 6th.
