FDNY LIDS Training - Dover

Thursday, July 2, 2015

On March 8 and 15, 2011, the Dover Fire Department, along with five of its neighboring companies, trained in Engine and Truck Company operations. A group of experienced fireman, comprised of serving members from the New York City Fire Department (FDNY), have been preparing members to effectively negotiate the complex environment presented at the scene of a fire. Their technique is called LIDS (Leadership, Instruction through Decision and Strategy). The LIDS series provides a refreshed perspective, through innovative training evolutions, of essential firefighting skills, ensuring firefighters are better prepared to operate safely and effectively on today’s fire ground.
