Working House Fire - Forest Ave

Thursday, July 2, 2015

On April 17, 2012 at 1940, the Dover Fire Department was dispatched for a working house fire at 1310 Forest Ave. E4, under the direction of Capt. M. Carey, arrived on scene to find a 1-1/2-story, vacant house (due to have live fire drills on Saturday) with fire showing from the “A” side of the residence. E4 advanced a 1-3/4” attack line through the front door for an interior attack. L1 arrived on scene and laid into the hydrant to supply E4. Their crew then pulled a second 1-3/4” attack line to assist with fire suppression. L2 arrived on scene and placed its tower in service to protect adjacent properties. Due to increasing fire conditions inside the residence and the condition of the structure, Command ordered a defensive attack and pulled the crews out. . E6 and E3 arrived on scene and provided a manpower pool. When the bulk of the fire had been extinguished, crews entered the residence and performed a search and rescue with negative findings. Crews continued with extinguishing hot spots and overhaul. The scene was placed under control. The fire is being investigated by the City of Dover FMO.
