Reported Aircraft Dowwn

On August 12, 2013 at 1731, the Dover Fire Department was dispatched to a reported aircraft down on State Rt 1 in the vicinity of the Dover Air Force Base. DAFB Crash Rescue units were first on scene and report a small, single engine aircraft in the southbound lane of Rt 1. Units reported no injuries and minor damage to the aircraft. Fire Chief West was the first Dover Fire unit on scene in the Chief’s car and assumed Command. Chief West held the response to a single piece out of Station 1. L1 arrived on scene and assisted with traffic control. Shortly thereafter, DAFB units cleared as well as Dover Fire. The scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police, DelDot, and USAF personnel.
