Emergency Dial 9-1-1
On March 30, 2014 at 0430, the Dover Fire Dept. received a call on Macarthur Drive reporting possible smoke in the basement. Immediately after L1 went responding, Dover PD went on scene with heavy smoke showing. Dover Fire immediately re dispatched for a working alarm and alerted Station 54 for an assist. L1 went on location of a one-story, single family dwelling with smoke showing from the basement. L1's crew stretched an 1-3/4" attack line through the "C" side for an aggressive interior attack. E2 went on location and laid a 5" supply line to L1. Chief Carey arrived on scene next and assumed command. L2 and E6's crew conducted primary and secondary searches, which proved to be negative. E7 arrived on location and assisted with securing utilities. The fire was contained to the room of origin and crews conducted overhaul operations. E54-2, E54-5 provided a stand by for Station 1. Chesapeake Utilities and City Electric were requested to the scene to secure their services. Units cleared and the scene was turned over to FM2.
