Working House Fire

On November 25, 2014 at 1329 the Dover Fire Department was alerted for a working house fire on Woods Drive. Chief Matt Carey was first on scene to find a one-story, single family dwelling with fire showing from the Charlie side. L1 and E2 arrived simultaneously and advanced two 1-3/4” attack lines through the Alpha side for the fire attack. Crews encountered heavy fire conditions and a partial roof collapse but were able to have the fire knocked down in thirty minutes. E6 secured the hydrant at S. State St/ Cooper Rd and laid in to supply E2. E6's crew conducted a primary search with negative results. E6's crew also vented the roof. E3's crew checked the attic for extension and encountered fire conditions as well. After extinguishing the fire, E3's crew provided a secondary search which was also negative. The crews on scene conducted extensive overhaul and turned the scene over to State Fire Marshall for further investigation. The Red Cross was notified for the displacement of two adults and three children who lived at the home.
