Emergency Dial 9-1-1
On 06/18/10 at 1538 hrs, the Dover Fire Department was dispatched for a rollover motor vehicle collision on State Route 1, just south of exit 104. E7 under the direction of Asst Chief West was first on scene to find a pick-up truck on its roof in the median with a subject trapped and partially ejected out the driver’s side window. E4 arrived on scene moments later and both crews began stabilization of the vehicle and extrication of the patient. Upon R1’s arrival, airbags were deployed to further stabilize the vehicle. Crews worked aggressively and had the patient removed in minimal time. The patient was transported via ground to the nearby Level II Trauma Center. Due to the efforts of the crews on scene, beach going traffic was only delayed for just over 30 minutes. Units on scene DFD E4, E7, R1 Medic KM5, KM9, BLS A63 Dover FM1, FM4 Delaware State Police
