Vehicle Fire with Exposure - 251 N. Dupont Hwy

On August 11, 2010 at 1633 the Dover Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle fire at 251 N. Dupont Hwy. E6 under the direction of Deputy Chief David Carey arrived on scene and found a Ford Windstar Mini-van fully involved with flame impingement into the mansard of the building on the “Delta” side of the structure. E6 secured a water source and advanced a 1-3/4” attack line between the building and the vehicle and extinguished the flames. L2 arrived on scene and laddered the structure to check for extension on the interior and exterior of the building. E2 arrived and advanced a 1-3/4” foam line and extinguished the running fuel fire from the vehicle. E54-5 was assigned the RIT for the structure.
