Working Townhouse Fire in Baytree Development - 51 Starboard Ct

On September 4, 2010 at 0843, the Dover Fire Department was dispatched for a working structure fire at 31 Starboard Court. Car 2, under the Command of Deputy Chief David Carey, arrived on scene and found fire showing from division 2 and the attic area, of a 2-1/2 story, end of the row, townhouse. E2 arrived on scene, secured a water source, and advanced a 1-3/4 hand-line into the structure and initiated fire attack on the second floor. L2 arrived on scene and advanced a second 1-3/4 hand-line into the structure. The remainder of L2’s crew, along E4’s arriving crew, laddered the building. E4’s crew preformed vertical ventilation of the fire building. E54-5 arrived on scene and set up the RIT and secured a second water source, and laid to L2. E6 arrived on scene and assisted with overhaul of the structure along with vertical ventilation of exposure Bravo 1 where R54 and R1 found minor fire extension into the attic area. E43-2 assisted with overhaul of the fire building. BLS unit A63 transported one of the residents to Kent General Hospital for smoke inhalation. Quint 45 and E54-2 were later called to the scene to assist with overhaul and clean up.
