Flashover Simulator - BWI Airport

Thursday, July 2, 2015

On Saturday, April 2, 2011, the Dover Fire Department, along with the Camden-Wyoming VFC, Cheswold VFC and Little Creek Fire VFC, attended flashover simulator training at Baltimore-Washington International Airport. The training was conducted by the Anne Arundel County Fire Department Training Academy. 20 Firefighters from all four departments attended. Special thanks to Captain Mike King, Lt. James Womelsdorf and Lt. Rich Blasdell from the Anne Arundel County Fire Academy for taking the time out of their schedule to provide us with the excellent training opportunity. We would also like to thank the Anne Arundel County “Alarmers Association” for volunteering their time to ensure our personnel were hydrated and fed for the training evolutions. None of this would have been possible without the gracious donation of supplies needed to conduct our training evolutions provided by the Home Depot of Dover. We are all grateful for your assistance.
