Basement Fire - Kesselring Ave

On September 04, 2011 at 1905, the Dover Fire Department was dispatched for a working house fire at 402 Kesselring Ave. The Command car, under the direction of Asst. Chief O’Connor, was first on scene and found smoke showing from the basement and “C” side of a two-story, residential dwelling. Mutual aide E41-1 was first on scene and was directed to stretch a 1-3/4” attack line through the rear door to the basement. E3 arrived on scene, assisted in securing a water source for E41-1 and was directed to advance another 1-3/4” attack line. L1, L2 and E3 arrived on scene and performed ventilation, search and rescue and secured all utilities. Interior crews affected a quick knock down minimizing damage to the residence. Crews remained on scene for a short while checking for extension and performing overhaul and salvage. E54-5 remained on scene available for second emergencies. The fire is under investigation by the City of Dover Fire Marshal’s office.
