Second Working Fire in 24 Hours - N. Governors Ave

On October 30, 2012 at 2213, the Dover Fire Department was dispatched for a working house fire at 223 N. Governors Ave. E6, under the direction of Chief Fortney, arrived first to find a single story, single family dwelling with a heavy smoke condition from the attic space. E6’s crew advanced a 1-3/4” attack line through the front door for an interior attack. L2, L1 and E3 arrived on scene. E3 laid into E4 to provide their water supply. A second 1-3/4” attack line was taken into the house for suppression. L1’s crew opened the roof. Interior crews made access to the attic and extinguished the fire. A search and rescue was accomplished with negative findings and extensive overhaul was performed. The scene is being investigated by the City FMO.
