Working House Fire

On May 5, 2014 at 1719 hrs, the Dover Fire Department was alerted for a working house fire on Nimitz Rd. Chief Carey was first on scene to find a 2-story single family dwelling with heavy fire showing from both divisions and immediately requested a second alarm. E2 arrived next and secured a water supply while stretching a 1-3/4" attack line to the front door. While E2's crew was attempting to put a knock down on the fire, Command declared all operations would be defensive. L1 arrived and stretched a second 1-3/4" attack line off of E2 to assist with knocking the fire down. L2 arrived and stretched a third 1-3/4" attack line off of L1 to the Charlie side. E7 arrived and assisted with fire suppression on the Charlie side. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down crews made their way inside to begin extinguish the remainder of the fire and perform extensive over haul. E3 and E4's crew conducted the primary and secondary searches of both divisions and they were negative. There were no injury's and the scene was turned over to the City of Dover Fire Marshal's office for investigation.
