Dumpster Fire

Thursday, July 2, 2015

On August 26, 2014 at 1207 hours the Dover Fire Department was alerted for a reported dumpster fire in the area of Wesley Church. L1 was first to arrive to find a dump body construction trailer full of ceiling tiles and paper products involved. Their crew placed a 1-3/4" hand line into service to the rear of the trailer. 16 arrived and assumed command of the incident. E6 was directed to the alley way at Division and Bradford and advised to place a booster line into service to protect the Charlie Delta Exposure. E3 arrived and their crew along with L1’s split crew were advised to check the church due to a heavy smoke condition and possible extension to the second floor. E3 also supplied L1 during the incident. Crews checked the Church and found no extension and the smoke had dissipated while crews were working. The fire was extinguished using approximately 1200 gallons of water. Scene was placed under control and turned over to FM-2 and Wesley Security for further.
