Squad 1, Engine 1, Squad 2, Quint 58, Squad 54, Tower 54 and Dover 15 responded to a motor vehicle accident with extrapment in the area of Rt 1 southbound just south of the toll plaza.
Dover 15 arrived and found a mini van in the woods on its side with one person trapped. Squad 1, Engine 1 and Quint 58 stablized the vehicle and removed the roof from the mini van to extricate the patient. Squad and Tower 54 cut a path to remove the patient from the wooded area. The patient was extricated in approximately 25 minutes.
The patient was packaged and moved to Trooper 4 then transported to Christiana Medical Center. Scene was turned over to DSP to investigate.
