Dover Fire congratulates two of its own for successfully graduating the District of Columbia Fire Academy.

The Officers and Members of the Dover Fire Department congratulate two of our own and their families on their successful completion and graduation of the District of Columbia Fire Department Recruit Class 407. Now graduated these two men will be assigned to the following as career firefighters. Troy M. Christiansen Engine Co. 33 Platoon # 3. Charlie M. Entenman Truck Co. 10 Platoon # 2. The Officers and The Members of Dover Fire Department wish both nothing but success in their exciting new career ahead.

Water Rescue St. Jones River

Shortly after units returned from the field fire yesterday, the Dover Fire Department was dispatched to the St. Jones River for a Water Rescue. Dover 15, Squad 1, Utility 1 and Marine 1 made a response. While additional information was gathered by the dispatcher, including weather, tides and depth, and victim descriptions, Command requested Airboat 57 from South Bowers Volunteer Fire Department and Trooper 4 from the Delaware State Police Aviation Section. Marine 1 was able to launch, and located the victims. They were uninjured, and with the assistance of Airboat 57 were removed from the water. Their canoe was also successfully recovered. Dover 21 had command of the incident. Immediately after returning, Squad 1 and Duty Chief responded to the Dover Country Club Apartment complex for a dumpster fire. These were a few the 10 alarms answered by the membership yesterday. If you want to protect your community and learn valuable skills, join us! Tower 2 in Service

The Dover Fire Department is proud to place in service a 2024 Pierce Enforcer 100ft Ascendant Tower Ladder. The truck is equipped with a full range of truck company equipment, 214ft of ground ladders, a 2000gpm Waterous pump, 300 gallons of water, 800ft of 5-inch supply line, 1-200ft and 1-300ft pre connected 1-3/4 hand lines as well as Technical rescue equipment for Confined space/high angle and water rescue. Firefighters gathered to “push” Tower 2 into the building officially placing the Tower in service. The new Tower Ladder will be known as Dover Tower 2.

West Chester Fire Training Center

Dover Firefighters traveled to West Chester Fire Training Center this weekend to practice Truck and Engine Company operations.
