On Saturday, October 12th at approximately 10pm, the Dover Fire Department and mutual aid units were alerted for an apartment fire on McDonald Drive. On arrival crews found a 3 story apartment building with smoke showing.
Firefighters entered the structure and found a fire in a first floor apartment laundry room. The fire was contained by the sprinkler system, however firefighters completed the extinguishment of the fire and all searches of the building were negative. Scene was turned over to the City Fire Marshals Office to investigate.
Units responding: Engine 1, Ladder 1, Tower 2, Squad 1, Squad 2, Engine 41, Truck company 54, Kent County and City of Dover EMS.
