Working House Fire

On Sunday September 18th at 13:16hrs the Dover Fire Department, Engine Co 41 along with ALS and BLS were dispatched to a working house fire with entrapment on South New Street.
Dover PD was first to arrive on scene reporting three juveniles trapped inside. Dover 19 arrived shortly after passed Command to the Chief. A search was made of the structure under extreme heat conditions with negative findings.
The residence was a balloon frame two story single family dwelling with several additions that were added off the rear of the structure.
The incident quickly escalated to a second alarms. Crews worked for an 1 hour and 22 minutes to bring the fire under control.
Units responding:
Dover Engine 5, Ladder 1, Ladder 2, Squad 1.
Firefighters also responded from Camden-Wyoming, Little Creek, Cheswold, Magnolia and Leipsic to assist with controlling the fire. Hartly and Clayton Fire Companies covered the City of Dover for additional emergencies.
 
Crews were on scene for approximately 4 hours.
Three firefighters were injured and transported to Bayhealth for evaluation.
The fire is under investigation by the City of Dover Fire Marshal.
