Emergency Dial 9-1-1
At 2114 this evening, the DFD was alerted for a working house fire at 1 E. Huntington Circle. The first unit on scene was the stand-by engine, relatively close by at the Dover High School football game. The engine reported a two-story house, fully involved. Deputy Chief Mark Hall soon arrived on scene and assumed command. Additional companies were requested and a second alarm was transmitted due to the house being located in a non-hydrant protected area of our district. An evacuation was ordered shortly thereafter by command due to a partial structural collapse. The scene was finally placed under control and turned over to the State FMO after several hours of work and overhaul.
