Snowy MVC With Entrapment

On January 6, 2015 at 0921, the Dover Fire Department was alerted for a motor vehicle collision with reported subjects trapped in the area of Webbs Lane and S. State Street. Fire Chief Mark hall was first on scene and reported one subject trapped with priority injuries. EMS units were on scene providing patient care. E4 arrived and were advised to stabilize the vehicle and began extrication on the passenger side of the car. ALS requested one additional BLS unit was needed at the scene, in addition to the three that were already on scene. There were a total of seven patients between three vehicles. R1 arrived and were directed to assist in extrication. Asst Chief Glenn Whitt was made the Extrication Officer. Extrication took approximately 10 minutes, performing a double door removal on the passenger side. The entrapped patient was removed and transported to the local trauma center along with all other patients. The situation was placed under control and turned over to Dover PD for investigation.
